E-Z Mart — 01112022

I had worked a five hour shift, at tE-Z Mart at 2711 W. Markham Street in Little Rock, Arkansas, on 01102022. On 01112022 I was contacted by Mr. ***** Brown, District Manager for E-Z Mart. Mr. Brown notified me by telephone that he had showed his manager the store video of my work performance in the store previously mentioned. He and his manager agreed that I could not do the job. Mr. Brown further stated that he could no longer use as an employee. On 01102022 had agreed to give me a fair shot to work as a cashier, the job I originally applied for. I now believe that he set me up for failure. I was told to come to work at 2:00 P.M. on 0110_2022, because this shift was a one person shift with the store doors closed. I did everything he requested I do. I never said no to his job instructions. I went out into the store aisles and did facing of the merchandise. I worked the window for customer service. At approximately 6:30 P.M. On 01102022, Mr. Brown informed me that he wanted me to come into work on 01222022, to work on the cash register. Mr.Brown further stated that this would be a better situation, due to other employees in the store and that the customers can come in the store and shop, then bring their purchases to the cash register for me to complete their transactions. I drove myself home thinking I had a job and that Mr. Brown was giving me a fair chance to work ar E’Z Mart. I now feel that he wanted me to fail from the beginning to justify terminating my employment. Mr. Brown is not in compliance with your company’s statement of hiring persons whom are protected by the law. The Americans with Disability Act. I believe Mr. Brown has a professional bias against any person with a physical disability. When I was recruited by Carolyn , who called me from a Virginia telephone number, that I am physically disabled. Carolyn asked me can I operate a cash register and answer a telephone. I responded to Carolyn by saying yes. Carolyn stated that she was forwarding my job application to the manager of the 2711 West Markham Street store for hire. I believe that under the ADA I was not fairly treated as an employee of E-Z Mart who’s only fault is having a physical disability. I want a fair chance to work in a fair and inclusive, but not Hostile work environment. I want to get the fair and appropriate training to work as a store cashier, under the ADA law. I want to believe that the E-Z Mart Corporation is a company of honor and integrity in keeping it’s word to it’s employees and new potential job hires. I also hope that this Corporation statements, in regards to hiring person’s with disabilities, and not lie to and misrepresent themselves to the public.

Respectfully Yours,

Joe Johnson
