We closed a condo on 6/5/2020 using the service provided by Stewart title company. At August, we received notice from an unrecognized HOA asking us to pay for the HOA fee ($77.76 a month). This unrecognized HOA wasn’t on our closing documents. After further investigation, we found out that there were two different HOAs of this condo but the title company only included one and failed to file correct documents on HOA and therefore our rights were damaged. We thought this was a mistake from Stewart title company because they didn’t find out this before the purchase. The reason we bought this condo is because of low HOA, if we know the HOA is $176.89 + $77.67 = $ 254.56, then we wouldn’t buy this condo. We ask for compensation for our loss due to title company’s mistake.
