Shopify — Racism: Targetted as a black seller on Shopify

As part of their security checks, I was asked to provide passport verification which I did. They claimed that they could not accept it by email or as a PDF. I again took passport pictures and saved them as JPEG and uploaded them. I was told that my face was unrecognisable. My passport picture has been accepted by government agencies and local authorities (the same picture). This is the first time that I have been told that I was unrecognisable. I have complained to Shopify, but they do not have a complaints department just an accounts department. I have asked my complaint to be escalated and have been told there is no one to escalate it to. I was told that it is how the machine reads it and that they would get a human being to look at the picture. This is the second escalation. I also asked if a virtual meeting could take place so that they could see the picture themselves as they do not have the facility. If you can signpost me to government agencies who I can complain in the US or Canada I would really appreciate it. I have been with them for a number of years and this is the first time something like this has happened to me and it feels very racist. Also if there are any agencies in the US or Canada that deal with this type of racism I would appreciate it if you could signpost me. By a person actually looking at the picture or having a virtual meeting.
