This is a review of the google fi… I had purchased a cheap phone through google (the motorola g6) as a work phone to stay connected to my family while I travel overseas (which is quite often, normally.) I had not used the phone in some time, to the tune of a few months, due to an injury preventing me from travel. During those few months, the phone sat in one of many boxes, as my wife, son and I were in the process of moving. I paid the aprox $23.00 per month to keep the phone on their google fi network, and did not pay anything additional in data, as the phone was off. This was the case for about 6 months. Fast forward, I had moved a handful of boxes to the new house, when time allowed. However, there was a few days since I had been to the new place, and when I made a trip to deliver some more boxes, I saw that we had been broken into. Since everything was scattered, I had no idea what was taken (other than a few work related electronics, which was the first thing I checked.) About a month goes by, and I get my bill was $184.00. It took me a little digging and checking to realize that the phone had been taken, and was clearly being used. I contacted their only to be told that the phone had been using data, and the high speed data was turned on. I mentioned that I had in fact not done that, but the individual who stole the phone did. They then asked me to see screenshots of the data being used…Their keeps running me in circles saying they can’t do anything about it, and will elevate the case to their supervisor, who then asks me for screenshots from the device of the data used. I offer to send the police report, but they refuse to make any changes. Their team is clearly reading from a poorly written script, and are refusing to help. STAY AWAY FROM GOOGLE FI.
