Hi my name is Brittany Freeman. My phone number is 9123201541. I was cleaning my bathroom today. And the vent on the ceiling came down. It was hanging on a string. It was about to fall and it was just a matter of time. The vent is hanging right over the toilet and on the inside the fan was still spinning. I called the office and told a lady named Carol. She said that’s not an emergency. I said it definitely is. Please send someone. She said They are busy handling more important things. We both were talking over each other until she said Get out before I call 911. I said ok and left immediately. I called the police myself because I would have done anything to get this fixed today. The police said we are coming because it’s a safety issue. When I got back to my building I saw a maintenance man right next door coming out of an apartment. At first I thought it was empty but I realized it wasn’t so I said ok. I said Excuse me sir are you Busy??? He said no not at all. I said Can I show you something in my bathroom my vent is falling. I told him that I need to know what I can do until it can be fixed. He walked in the bathroom and saw it hanging from one wire and the fan was still going. He immediately went to get a new one and was back in 2 minutes and the job only took 1 minute to fix. On his way out of my house he said Don’t tell her I fixed it. I called 911 back to cancel and then called Mrs.Carol and told her it’s fixed. I told her that I talked to the maintenance man that was next door and she said WHY DID YOU TALK TO HIM. YOUR NOT SUPPOSE TO TALK TO HIM. THATS MY WORKER. YOU VIOLATED THE RULES. So i said ok I didn’t know I couldn’t talk to the maintenance man. She was very rude and I don’t want this to happen again in the future. If the vent wasn’t hanging over the toilet maybe I could have waited but knowing that I have very very active seizures I didn’t need it to fall on my head while using the toilet. It’s a shame how these landlords treat the disabled. So I’m making a complaint. Please fix this from happening again. I have talk to 2 or 3 different people that i found on google explaining the situation and they automatically knew who I was talking about. One of them laughed and said oh she is alot to deal with and she thinks she own the buildings. He said she might go through great lengths to try to find any violation so I could be kicked out. Please call me back. I need someone to make sure this never happens again and to help me feel safe in my home. I am disabled living upstairs. Which I don’t understand that either. Please call me
