Scotiabank — Did not use the account and getting charged to close the account

i had gone online to open a momentumPLUS savings account and it seems that I had opened a checking account also with the ultimate package. I had clicked on the first open account link.

I went to the branch at 10645 Bramalea Road, Brampton, ON L6R 3P4 and when I told the teller that I only wanted the momentum saving account and could she close the checking account, she told me that it would be a $20.00 charge to close an account that I had not used!!!

I asked her if it was right to charge for something I had not used and is there anything the supervisor could do. Ramnik Sanghera said no and I told her that I had my mortgage renewal coming up and still she said no.

I already have a TD bank account where the service is better and the managers more understanding. I asked her to close all my accounts.

For a cheap price of $20.00, Scott you will get my free reviews told to all my family and friends to not go to Scotia Bank.

I know of more people with bad experiences with Scotia on how they do not process promotion rebates and other bad experiences. The website has also a lot of bad reviews and I have added one more….

I would like this location to be audited for customer relations and service. This is terrible service and I will not go to any Scotia Bank until the service is improved.

I am satisfied right now with TD Bank.
