Poor customer service

I visited my local Jewel to purchase some Deli meat. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes while the 3 employees ignored me. I said hello and one of them told me the deli did not open until 9 AM due to staffing. It 850 AM and there was no sign stating the Deli changed hours. I spoke to a manager on the way out and while she was quite pleasant she said it was staffing and nothing could be done. I told her and believe the function of the Deli is to sell product, it seems that is not important to there employees. I believe the priorities are backwards here, as they were just standing around and could have served me in two minutes. Jewel should try to take care of customer needs not expect the customers to change their shopping habits to please them. At the very least the time change should be posted so early shoppers are aware and can go elsewhere.
