Parkdean Resorts — Cancellation of my holiday without any notice given until I turned up at park to check in

I booked a lovely caravan for my son and myself with dogs for a week had a lovely conversation about my work etc reason I was booking etc explaining I worked on the island but was in between rentals so my son was coming for a holiday to be with the dogs have a holiday and I wasn’t returning to work until the end of the week so we would spend time together All was finely booked on Friday 24th but as I was still on the mainland said I wouldn’t arrive until Saturday when I originally wanted to book from but was told it was a friend to frid booking so was happy to lose the one day. I had a call from the head office leaving a message for me to ring back saying the phone kept going to answer the phone so I rang back several times and got through to be put on hold for ages eventually getting through to be put on hold then to be told that Karen would ring back !! There was some issue with her getting through to me so I kept ringing and I got through ok to her but they would always come back to me with the message she would ring back !! I had no left messages from Karen stating my reservation had been canceled my payment had left my bank Also had no email which In my opinion could have been done. Arrived at thornless from the mainland to check in on Saturday 25th to be told it had been canceled!! I had no idea so was stuck on the island with my son and dogs with no accommodation Thorness park had nothing else to give me! All they could do was offer me a chalet at nodes point on the other side of the island not where I wanted to be and not in a chalet but had no choice. There has been no compensation offered for the inconvenience, given a downgrade in a chalet compared to the caravan I booked and a different park! We are here now and it’s not enjoyable. We would have liked to be offered a caravan at the site we chose or even if needed to be at another site the accommodation being equal to what we booked as not only have we had to move parks in my opinion also downgraded I also have been on the website and seen the caravan is now available from mon for 4 nights which makes me think it was double booked !! The only way to resolve this now is for a full refund of the holiday
