Netflix — Who cancelled my account

This morning I received an email from Netflix telling my account had been cancelled at my request. IO did not do that and no one has my email or password for this account. I went ahead and renewed my account but no onre in customer service could answer my questions. And I was not told how to register a complaint. I found that answer on the internet. I just want to know who is responsible so I can make sure this does not happen again
