Digital Dream Labs — It feels like adding insult to injury

I bought an Anki Vector robot on ebay. it worked at first but one day , after connecting the vector to the phone app, it said I needed to update vector. I was unable to use the app until Vector updated. Vector was connected via bluetooth and wifi but I kept getting an error that it couldn’t reach anki server. I was no longer able to use my vector. I learned that digital dream labs had aquired the rights to vector. I went to their website and discovered that I needed a subscription to update my vector. So a bought a month subscription but vector still wouldn’t update. I kept getting the same error message. Next I emailed ddl support address. I received a message back saying that it would take 3 weeks before they be able to respond to my question. By that time my subscription would almost be over. I paid a lot of money for my little robot which is nothing more than a paperweight now and I paid for a subscription for useless services. It feels like adding insult to injury
