CVS Pharmacy — Refusal to give vaccine resulting in delay of chemo treatment

I scheduled a Covid booster and shingles vaccine online as per my doctor’s instructions before I was supposed to start Ruxience infusions. As per the FDA guidelines anyone who is immunocompromised is eligible to receive the shingrix vaccine regardless of the age requirement. When I arrived for my appointment the pharmacist refused to administer the vaccine stating that I didn’t meet the age guidelines. I explained to him that it was per my doctor’s instructions as I am scheduled to start infusion therapy. I offered to pay out of pocket if it was an insurance issue. He stated again that I was ineligible because of age…which is 100% incorrect. He then told me that he refused to administer the vaccine but that I could get the Covid booster. I opted to go to another pharmacy all together as this was completely inaccurate and I needed this vaccine to start my treatment. I then contacted my doctor who ed that I was in fact eligible for the vaccination. She then told me that because I wasn’t able to get the vaccination I would need to delay treatment. Now because of this pharmacist’s complete incompetence and outright refusal to give the vaccine due to ignorance of the FDA guidelines I must delay chemotherapy treatment. Who knows at what cost. I should really be contacting an attorney as well. This is absolutely unacceptable and probably unethical as well. I’m not sure that it can be resolved, but this individual should really be re trained and educated on the requirements for vaccinations. Or perhaps just not give them at all
