CVS Pharmacy — Refusal to Check me Out at the Cash Register

On Monday evening on October 11, 2021, I walked into CVS to purchase some paper plates. After purchasing the paper plates, I got into line at the cash register. There was a lady in front of me checking out. She had quite a few items to purchase, which probably took about 5 minutes. The cashier suggested that I go to the self-check register. I replied to him that I didn’t do well with self checkouts and that I was fine waiting in line. When the lady in front of me was finished at the register ( this clerk was the only clerk at the register and did not send for back-up help), I attempted to approach the same clerk at the counter, and instead of offering to wait on me, he suggested that I walk with him over to the self-check do he could show me how to use it. I told him that I didn’t want to use it, and put the paper plates down on the counter. The clerk then asked me if I was sure, and I said yes. He never at any time offered to ring me up at the cash register. I thought this was the height of rudeness and unprofessionalism. This young man should be fired immediately. The store manager should possibly be fired as well. I think I should be given a $50 gift card to compensate me for being subjected to such rudeness and disrespect of being forced to go to a self-serve after I had said I was uncomfortable with them. I would also suggest that the employees in this store receive some extra training on politeness and professionalism in their CVS jobs. The staff in this store give CVS a bad name.,
