Chase — Theft of retirement funds from checking account

Donald Gerds, senior citizen, long had his retirement checking savings account at Manhattan Beach, California branch of Chase bank. Over the course of June 2021 thru January 2022 nearly $150,000 was stolen from the account through fraudulent wire transfers. Chase was sending Donald’s account statements to a PO Box he had closed (he informed them it was closed); and the account statements were sent back by the post office to Chase. Donald has senility and was distracted by the illness of his wife, who then passed. When she passed the family checked his retirement checking savings account and discovered the monies had been stolen. Chase is stonewalling on the family’s many inquiries, having indicated Donald gets back 60 days of the stolen funds only since he did not tell the Bank about the theft within 60 days of when it started. Pay Donald the balance outstanding.
