Booking.com — Need a Refund

Policy of cancellation was free when you cancel before 6th April. So I send and email via the email found on my nation page to notify my intention to cancel on 23th march. Unfortunately, they did not send me and email back to my cancellation but went ahead to debit my account of the full cost of my stay. I need a refund as this is not my fault. Not resolve any ?
