Home Depot — Fraudulent Pricing

Today, while shopping for a kitchen remodel job I am working on, I found a stainless steel kitchen faucet Delta #367255 on display with a price of 189.00 which looked suitable for my job so I picked one up. When I went to check out the self-check machine said the price was 259.00 so I asked an associate to check the price because the display had a price tag which said 189.00 He called the pluming manager who said the price was in fact 259.00. The sales clerk then accused me of mixing up the faucets because they all look alike. Maybe they do to him but I told him I shop here almost every day and had checked the stock numbers because so much merchandise is always stocked incorrectly. We walked back to check the display and when we did it had a price tag of 259.00. I was completely embarrassed and apologized to the clerk then looked closely at the tag and saw a new tag had been placed over the 189.00 tags. I was shocked the plumbing clerk had tried to change the price tag and immediately called for the manager. Dave is the store manager at the Ukiah store and Ed is the plumbing associate who changed the price but neither came. Instead, Janice Evans, Project Manager (whatever that means?) came to the front and asked why I was so upset. I explained what had happened with the price switch and she offered to sell it to me at the lower price which only made me angrier because the price is not the issue at all What I have an issue with is Ed’s attempt to make a fool of me by changing the price tag instead of simply telling the sales clerk of the error. Now it is, for me, an extremely uncomfortable situation since I wasn’t able to show the sales clerk the original display tag. I have been made to feel like a criminal and don’t think I should have bought the faucet as I think back to the whole mess. What I would like is to hear from Ed why he chose to fraudulently cover the price of the faucet knowing I had just seen it and an apology from both Ed and Dave the store manager. The store has surveillance cameras which I am sure will show Ed covering the price and I am wondering if I should have my attorney call to retrieve them? Unfortunately, the State attorney generals office is closed or I would ask them what steps to take
