My husband and I attended an owner’s meeting on Tuesday, November 29 at 11:00 with Milka. We were told many things that we questioned because it was different than the information we had received from other meetings. We informed her that we just wanted information on how to effectively use our HGV Max points and we were 100% not spending any more money. First, she tried to get us to upgrade to the Centum level. We said we were not doing that. Then she started telling us that we needed to combine the 2 accounts we had or we could not maximize our points. This concerned us because she kept telling us we needed to do this is order to pay blended maintenance fees, which will only go up 1-2% per year, and if we didn’t do this it was possible the fees could go up 25%. She left us in the room and came back with printed material showing us our account. I asked her several times what the bottom line was for the cost and did not get an answer until she left us again and returned with 2 options. The first would cost us $64,000 and the second option would cost us $28,0000. This went on for 2 hours (the meeting was not to exceed 1 hour). We were very frustrated because she would not take no for an answer. She finally, rudely said, So, you don’t want free upgrades? We said we did not and she said she would be right back. She left us in the room for another 10 minutes when we finally got up to leave. We walked by her and she was simply visiting with another sales person. When I got home Wednesday, I called Diamond Resorts with many questions for clarification. I could not believe that all but one thing she claimed was a lie. I know the call is recorded, so feel free to listen. We were mad all the way home by how poorly we were treated, and that the 1 hour time frame was not honored. Milka needs to be recorded during her meetings so that she has to tell the truth. Also, she needs to be help accountable for not honoring the 1 hour time frame. We should get some kind of compensation for the extra hour and the worry that she caused us.
